Soelma Dagaeva. Minister of Culture of Buryatia.
Uses her administrative resources to support the war effort through cultural events. Cultural institutions and organizations under her jurisdiction are forced to raise money for soldiers, perform concerts in hospitals, and travel to occupied territories.
“Our Russians call themselves Buryats, and Buryats go as Russians. Our guys are all brothers. Only this can help us now,” Dagaeva stated in September when soldiers from Buryatia’s hospitals visited the Ethnographic Museum for a tour.
Dora Khmaganova. Press Secretary of the Administration of the Tunkinsky District of Buryatia.
Dora Khmaganova has a particular focus on the "Free Buryatia" Foundation, to which she devotes a significant amount of her working time.
“Betrayal. Right in front of us. And they feel no shame... Slander against the Buryat people. Against our warriors from Buryatia,” she writes about anti-war activists who are calling on fellow countrymen not to go to Ukraine, i.e., to save their own and others' lives.
Khmaganova’s grandson signed a contract and was injured in the leg. But even that hasn’t deterred the propagandist Khmaganova, who is mostly known for her extreme statements — for example, photos in a gynecological chair.
Tsydenzhap Batuev. Former deputy of the People's Khural of Buryatia from "United Russia."
On his VKontakte page, he regularly promotes the war, calling for donations for "the production of equipment for our warriors."
In his opinion, "Our homeland has three reliable allies: the army, the navy, and the friendship of peoples."
In September, explaining the low voter turnout, Batuev stated:
"The increased activity of 'Free Buryatia' was expected. This factor had to be taken into account in the recent elections. There is no doubt that the wisdom of our people will smooth over the electoral tension. But the authorities need to make appropriate conclusions. The fact remains — the West's influence has been felt for years, even decades!"
